From the Course to the Gallery: How was the Czech conversation and art course?
When preparing our Czech courses, we always try to come up with something that will interest and motivate you to come and meet and talk with us, as well as share your experiences with us.
This is also why in May we opened a number of conversation courses on various topics. One of those topics was Czech in art. It was here where our clients met their teacher Tereza, Honza the photographer and their dog Albert, and we discussed various art genres and techniques and expanded our vocabulary by learning terms like VERNISÁŽ (Vernissage).
For those of you who see this word for the first time (just like the students of our course had), a vernissage is the first day of an opening of an exhibition, where you can talk to the authors, have something small to eat and drink, and sometimes even experience a musical or a theatre performance. The vernissage is an event where we can meet over numerous artworks with a glass of wine or water in our hands and talk about whatever comes to our mind.
Visiting the Löw-Beer and Tugendhat villas.
We discussed various art genres and techniques and expanded our vocabulary by learning terms like VERNISÁŽ (Vernissage).
Our students learned about selected statues, paintings and buildings in Brno, as well as the gardens and histories of the Löw-Beer and Tugendhat villas. However, they also worked with charcoal, sanguinis, pencils, acrylic colors or watercolors. They made their own statues, or they made linocut prints. We looked for inspiration at the vernissage of Jan Spěváček in Galerie Art, and finally we could organize a vernissage of our own.
We planned it, organized it and prepared it all on our own. It takes a bit of courage to advertise the entire event, think up a theme, create something and finally hang it on the gallery wall for all the visitors to see. And we fully support this courage, which is why we would like to invite you to the exhibition opening on July 13th, 2023, from 18:30 in our offices on Kounicova 13, on the 2nd floor. You can also come take a look for the next two weeks during the opening hours of the Centre.
Finally printing!
Luckily, we aren’t few in number and we can support each other. In our courses you will find not only the opportunity to discuss various things, but also to establish new relationships. After all, within the first couple of lessons, the Czech in Art course adopted the motto: Friendships will save the world!
We are extremely happy to see all the things that come to be in our courses, and we are looking forward to everything that is awaiting us in the future.
