Czech conversation courses for EU citizens – REGISTRATION
We will begin new Czech language courses on 5 June 2023. You can register from 21 May to 28 May lower on this page.
- The courses are intended for all citizens of the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA), who are living in the South Moravian region long-term.
- Clients outside of the EU and EEA cannot sign up for the courses.
Conversely, clients with Czech citizenship can sign up for these courses.
Frequency of lessons: 2× per week according to schedule, 5 weeks.

Levels and topics:
Conversations on basic topics, A1 and higher (For those who finished A1.1 and A1.2)
MON + WED 17:30–19:00, Tereza Mácková
Conversation course that covers basic A1 topics. The objective of the course is to review grammar and expand vocabulary.
Conversations on basic topics, A1 and higher (who those who finished A1.1 and A1.2)

Conversation course that covers basic A1 topics. The objective of the course is to review grammar and expand vocabulary.
We write Brno History Together, A2 and higher (for those who finished A2.1, A2.2, A2.3)
TUE + THURS 17:30–19:00, Zdeňka Cholenská
This conversation course focuses on the expansion of vocabulary and grammar from A2 level to topics on the history of Brno through the co-habitation of minorities. We will focus on Brno’s architecture and art, we will also look at the history of the textile industry, look at films and documents dedicated to this topic; visit museums and interesting exhibitions, recommend books…
Topics of everyday life, B1 and higher (for those who finished B1.1, B1.2, B1.3, B1.4)
MON + WED 9:00–10:30, Jitka Koudelková
The conversation course is based on expanding the vocabulary for B1 level and its use. The exercises will focus on topics such as housing, traveling and finding one’s way in the city, health and lifestyle, art and culture, food and national cuisines, reading and Czech literature, the country and national traditions, sport and free time activites.

How to sign up for a course:
- I am already a client of the Centre – if you have already attended a course with us and you passed the final test with at least 70%, sign up for the course one level above you.
- You are a new client and you have not attended any course at the Centre for Foreigners, but you can speak a bit of Czech – you must take a written and oral placement test. Both parts are mandatory.
- You can take the written part online from 4 May 2023 until 18 May 2023. The number of spaces is limited, please register in time. If you already have an account, you can find the test here. If you do not have an account, please create it first here.
- After the test we will contact you and invite you to the oral part of the exam. We can either meet in person at the Centre for Foreigners or online through Zoom.
- Due to organizational reasons we do not accept certificates from Czech language courses from other institutions.
